Messrs. Levin and Co. report holding a sale of hides, skins, tallow, etc., yesterday. Ah average offering was' submitted, and, though there was a fair attendance of buyers, biddings, f'f: the mar jority of lots, were restricted. Sheepskins: Sales were only possible at an all-round decline on prices ruling at the sale held a fortnight ago. We quote: Half-bred, 3id to 4d; fiiie crossbred, 2£d to 3Jd; medium coarse crossbred^ ljd to 2£d; short to half-wools, id to 2£d; lcunbs, 2^d to 3id; dead and damaged crossbred, id to 2£d; inferior and badly damaged, to lid; pelts. Id to 2-Jd; damp, salted, and green, Is to 3s 3d; pelts, salted, 6d to Is 7d; lambs, salted, Is to 2s sd. Hides: Demands very limited, and in consequence heavies were difficult to quit at late rates, whilst medium and lights declined fully a to jd por pound. Kip and yearling about on a par with last sale prices, while good calf were in demand at late rates. We.quote: Ox, heavy, 591b up, llfd to 13^d; ox, medium, 50-58, sid to 9£d; ox, light, 49 and under, 3|d to 4|d; cut, slippy, and inferior, ljd to 9§d; cow, heavy, 551b and over, 3£d to ligd: cow, medium, 42 to 54, 2g-d to si : d: cow/light, under 42, 2jd to s|d; cut, slippy, and inferior, Id to 4|d; bull, stag, Ud to 2£d; yearlings (111b to 321b), 2£d to 10;j, : d; calf, superior (up to 101b), lOd to 15Jd; calf, medium to good, s|d to 15£ d ; calf, damaged, l£d to 9£d. Tallow: Market quiet, very little -inquiry, and business was only possible at very low prices. In casks, 13s; in tins, etc., 12s to 14s 6d. Sundries: Hovse-hair, Is 4d; cowtails, lOd.

Messrs. Dalgety and Mnrray-Rojjerts furnish similar reports, the former stating, that dry skins were ad to Id per pqund below last sales, and hides, in sympathy with Australia', were down fully Id per pound, heavy making up to. 13d. Messrs. Murray-Roberts adtl thp.t dry skins were down Id per pound, and wet declined up. to 6d por skin.
