NEW YOR£, 4th July. Mr. Tex Rickard announces that the fight receipts totalled 1,623,000 dollars, of which 500,000 is profit. Preliminary discussions have begun for a bout between Dempsey and Willard or Dempsey and .Wills, and one between Carpentier and Mike Gibbons.
Descamps estimates that it will be three months before Carpentier is able to.fight, owing to the injury to his thumb.. .! ■■..".".■■.."." .'"..'
NEW YORK, 4th July. Descamps says that -Carpentier is ready'to take on allcomers as the light heavy-weight champion.HHoe o admits that Dempsey is his superior, ."and :will not seek a return match.. His injured hand is healing".
