BROOKLYN CLUB.
The Pewter Pot teams' race was do' cided by the Brooklyn Harriers on Saturday. Five teams competed, tho start being from tho Miramar tram terminus. Tho race was over the old five-mile course with the exception of a detour by tho golf links, where tho trail, instead of outting across the links, continued on down to the boach and then circled the hills back to Scots College, whoro the usual course was again followed. Mr. Kitching acted as starter, and from the word "Go," Bell .made'a very fast pace, and after a milo had been covored was 100 vards in the lead', Dentice being next, closely followed by Barclay, Smollio, Futter, and Harlen in that order. The positions remained unalterd throughout the race, although at the finish Bell had managed to increase his lead to 500 yards. The results of the race aro as follow: — Actual placing: Bell, 1; Dentice, 2; Barclay, 3. Time 32min 28sec. Sealed Handicap: F. liarlon, 1; Bell, 2; Futter, 3. First team: Barclay, Futter, Dobson, and Willis. In connection with the sealed handicap a rose bowl was donated to the club by Mr. Sherwood for annual competition, and during the course of afternoon tea this was presented to Mr. Harlen. After tea a general meeting was held to elect a new cdmmitteeman in place of Mr. Clark, who has resigned, the successful candidate being Mr. W. Burke. The run next week will be from Island Bay, where the club will bo the guests of Mr. J.-/0. Shorland." 1 SCOTTISH CLUB. }.: ■ : The Scottish Club held" a ' run from Cliff House, Island' Bay, on Saturday. Weather conditions wore ideal, and combined with a splendid trail laid by Messrs; Greig and Harrington, made the run one of tho most enjoyable of tho season. The trail led round tho1 beach road to Happy Valley, then into tho hills on tho western side, returning to the Happy Valley-road and over the hills to Island' Bay. Two packs i were despatched/ the first. ooncoding',ls minutes. This, however, proved rather generous, owing to the nature of tho country negotiated, and the first pack had to be halted for a few minutes in order to allqw tho two packs to combine for tho run-in, which took place over tho last 200 yards. W. Ballantyno gained premier honours, closely followed by C. Campbell, Dawkins, arid R. Mentiplay in that order. Next Saturday's run is' from Kelburn.
