' SYNOPSIS OF LAST 48 HOURS. ' Considerable rain fell on Saturday and Sunday in districts with ,i westerly aspect, while fair though dull weather ruled in 'the east coast districts. Southerly winds, however, increased during Sunday night, and Very cold, squally conditions and heavy showers have since been experienced generally, with much snow on the high country in the South Island.
