A RECENT COLLISION

In the' Mafjistrate's Court to-day, Mr. J. S- Evans, S.M., delivered reserved judgment in the civil case in which Alfred F. Coker and John W. i Martin proceeded against the Wellington- Hospital and Charitable Aid Board, the former to recover the sum of £136 5s in respect to injuries received in a collision between defendant's ambulance and the plaintiff's motor-car, and tho latter the sum of £50 for alleged damages to the car. Tho Magistrate made an inspection of the locality of the accident (tho Hospital gates), arid came io the conclusion that tho ,drivor of the ambulance was at fault. Judgment vpaa given, for plaintiff Coker for £84 3s, including general damages £25, and costs totalling £8 3s 6d. Martin recovered the sum of £35 damages to the car and costs amounting to £6 15s 6d. Leavo to appeal was granted, and the security fixed at the amount of the judgment, and £JO 10s. Mr. P. J. O'Regan appeared for plaintiffs, and Mr, T. Neavofor tho defendant.
