COLLEGE OLD BOYS
Tho annuaL report of tho Wellington College Old Boys Association stated that 106 new members were enrolled during tho year. Tho affiliated clubs are still carrying on successfully. Tho football club's first fifteen finished tho season well up in tho junior competition, and tho cricket c)ub made a very creditable showing in the senior championship competition. The swimming club was unable to get going again, but it is hoped that sufficient support will be forthcoming next season to enable the club to resume operations. Old Boys' day was held successfully nt the college. In tho evening a large and representative gathering was held in tho Town Hall, when a life-liko painting of Mr. Firth (by Bowling), was presented by the asociation to Mrs. Firth, who has generously decided to bequeath it .to the school. The report records in glowing terms the appreciation of the work of Mr. and Mrs. Firth. The committee, on behalf of the association, extends to Mr. T. R. Cresswell a sincere and heurty wolcomo to the headmastcrship of tho college, and asks old boys to do all in their power to assist him in upholding the traditions of the old school. The report records with pleasure the election lnst year by the parents of the pupils of the college and girls' high school, of two prominent, old boy?, Messrs. R. Darroch and AY. H. Denton, to the Board of College Governors. With two such enthusiastic old boys on the board, parents can rest assured that their interests will not be lost 3ight of.
