A GOOD ROAD
"I 1 have travelled sevoral times over tho roads between Taupo and Rotorua, and I'vo not previously found them in such an excellent condition as they are to-day for motor and other vehicular traffic," said' the Hon. JE. P. Lee, Minister of Justioo, to a Post representative this morning. The Minister has been spending the ld.stj.ew days in inspecting with the Comptroller-General of Prisons, Mr. C. E. Matthews, the Northern prison irstitutions, and journeyed by way of Waimarino and Rotorua, where two -of the principal prison camps are located. "In tho summer months'," continued the Minister, "the pumice dust that arises makes travelling a little unpleasant, and usually at thia\ time of the year many parts of the raids are greatly affected by wet weather, but their ojmosfc splendid condition' to-day enables the journey to bo covered by motor very expeditiously."
