EX-GERMAN STEAMERS

LONDON, 28th April. The shipping controller has sold the ex-German steamers Wendland, Friesland, Munsterland, Sauerland, and Vogtland, of which the gross tonnage averages about 11,000 tons dead weight, and ranges from 15,400 to 16,800 tons. Four were built in 1920, and one in 1917. The prices totalled £532,500, representing an average of £6 12s 6d per ton dead weight. The Australian Press Association understands that the purchasers are the Federal Steam Navigation Company.
