HAWTHORN HEDGES
INSPECTION BY MINISTER OF
AGRICULTURE.

CAMBRIDGE, This Day. The Hon. W. Nosworthy (Minister of Agriculture), accompanied by Messrs! Young and BolUvrd, M.P.'g, and an opchardist expert, visited Waikato yesterday and met a representative gathering of farmers. They inspected hawthorn hedges' between tamahere and Cambridge. The Minister motored many miles. The farmers emphasised the point that the destruction of the hedges would mean an enormous expense, and reduce the country's output. In the evening a large meeting offarmers was held at Csjnbrld.ge. Seyenv} farmers urged, the importance pf the question.
