"SINBAD" PANTOMIME.
On Thursday next the season of the J. and N. Tait " Sinbad the Sailor" Pantomime Company commences in the Grand Opera House. It takes twenty scenes to illustrate the fairy story. most of which require the full extent of the stage for their exploitation. They include the following features :—"The Port of Balsora,," " The Docks," "Under the Sea," "The Coral Cave," "The Diamond Valley," "The Caliph's Palace," "The Butterfly Ballett," "The Carpenter's Shop," ' " The Wreck of the Ship," "Buddah," and "The Pink and Silver Wedding." These have been painted and prepared by George Upward and George Dixon, and are calculated to show to patrons the fine achievements of the scene-painter's art. " The Diamond Valley," which forms the finale of the act, is said to be especially beautiful, while " The Caliph's Palace" is also a remarkable piece of stage arcliitecture. Thesd scenes are peopled by some 200 persons, clad in wonderful costumes. Deftly sandwiched in there are many comical and diverting scenic episodes, notably "The Deck of Saucy Herbert," "The' Raft at Sea," "The Whale's Back," "Lion Hunting," and "The Carpenter's Shop." A fine cast has been secured, including Miss Jennie Hartley, Mr. Jack Cannot, and Mr. Dan Aj»ar. The box plans foi' the first six nights and first two matinees are open at the Bristol.
