TAIHAPE, This Day. At a special meeting of the Taihapo branch of the A.S.R.S., held yesterday, a motion protesting against , numerous dismissals of married casuals to make room for recently-arrived unmarried immigrants was adopted. It was pointed out that 80 per cent, of the men employed on maintenance were casuals. Train-running had been dependent upon them. One man had done ten years' service. He had a son killed in the war, and has an invalid wife to support. The Department's action is vewed as intolerable. .
