STAFF "SOCIAL"
The staff of Bannatyno and Hunter, Limited, tendered a farewell "social" recently to Mr. H. C. Hunter, the managing direotor, vho left by the Manuka on Thursday on a holiday visit to England, the Continent, Canada, and United States. The function took place at tho New Century Hall, which was prettily decorated for the occasion. Nearly 100 were present, and tho evening was very enjoyably spent with dances and vocal items. After supper, the loyal toast having been duly honoured, Mr.- H. -A. Goodwin, tho firm's manager, proposed the toast of Mr. H. C. Hunter. He referred to tho spirit of co-operation existing between the management and staff. The speaker concluded by wishing Mr. and Mrs. Hunter and family a happy holiday and a safe return. Tho guest mado a suitable reply. Other toasts were proposed and responded to by Messrs. H. A. Gold E. Mace, H. G. Salmond, A. Grix, C. Morrison, F. W. Murrell, W. A. J. Dutch, and Miss D. Holloway.
