MAGISTRATE'S COURT

To-day's Bitting of the. Magistrate's Court -was presided over by Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M John Gibson, charged with unlawfully absenting himself from the s.s. Wood&ra, was ordered to forfeit his wages, the Magistrate pointing out that as the man had been .engaged in Wellington, he had no power to imprison him John Madden, on a charge of drunkenness, for a fourth time within thel period, was sentenced to seven days' imprisonment... A remand to appear at Blenheim on the 22nd March was granted in tEe case 1 of Herman Arthur L, Halm, charged with theft at Picton on the Bth Augjust, 1920, of a lathe, valuetl at £45, the property of Frederick Francis Hall. Mr. A. B. Sievwright, who appeared for Halm, objected to the case being heard at Blenheim, but this was not upheld.
