IMPERIAL PURCHASES
Quantities of New Zealand produce, purchased by the Imperial Government, and held in store in New Zealand, for which no shipping space had been allocated on 7ti March, amounted to 302,769 carcases of meat, and there were also about 300,000 bales of wool and 317,700 boxes butter awaiting shipment on tha same date. Payments made from 28th February to, 7th'. March were, on account of meat £37,073; for greasy and fellmongers' wool £6904, for freezing companies' elipe wool J3167; for butter £432,115.
