Riversdale Trot, 175 soys; two miles. —Quick Match 1, The Shiek 2, Gladiola 3. Scratched : Matty's Boy and Oaknut. Time, 4min 47 4-Ssec.
General entries for the Auckland Autumn Meeting and acceptances for the Easter Handicap, Brighton Hurdles, and Autumn Steeples close on Friday at 5 p.m. At the same time forfeits must be declared for the Great Northern Stakes, Oaks, and St. Leger Stakes.
W. Bell, who incurred the displeasure of the authorities at Awapuni at Christmas time, is making his reappearance in the saddle at Nelson. He will ride members of Mr. J. J. Corry's team when the weights suit. Most of the Trentham stables will be represented at the Nelson Meeting today and Saturday. Fortune Teller will make her first appearance this, season at Richmond.
Matatua is the popular" pick for the Nelson Cup. He will be ridden by F. Corlett.';'. . .
