The annual staff picnic of' Wright, Stephenson, and Co., Ltd., was held at Day's Bay on Thursday. The • sports programme was run off in the morning, and»altogether a most ehjoya-ble day was spent. .
The following are the results of the various races :—
100 Yards—Osborne, Caulton, Burnett. 200 Yards—M'Leod, Osborne, Hill. 100 Yards (ladies) —Miss Hawthorn, Miss Conway, Miss L. Bell.
Sack Race—Caulton, Burnett, "Wooten,
Three-lep^fid Race —Miss Hawthorn and Caulton, Miss Cruickshank and Dalrymple.. ■ ■ '
Elopement Race—Miss M. Bell and Dalrymple, Miss Beggs and Charles. . '
Wheelbarrow Race—Miss Hawthorn and Dalrymple, Miss Logan and Fox.
Storemen's Race—M'Leod, Trotter, Foley. i . ' Married Men's Race —Trotter, Maxwell, Wilton.
'In the tue-of-war the office defeated the store in two straight-out pulls.
