LEAGUE FOOTBALL
The Petone Rugby Football League Club held its annual meeting last evening, Mr. E. Tovey, who was present by invitation, presiding over a targe attendance. During the course of his remarks the chairman gave an interesting account of the'progress of the game in Auckland and' surrounding districts. The report and balance-sheet were adopted. It was decided to form a swimming club for the purpose of keeping the members together during the summer months. Thirty-three new members were elected, and it was decided to enter six teams in the competitions. Officers for the ensuing year were elected as follow : — Patron, Mr. G, H. Scales; president, Mr. B. Alright; vice-presidents, Messrs. White, .Kyle, Potts, Smith, ' Wragge, Parrant, Walsh, -Armstrong. Pointon/ Trescott, M'Kechnio, Woodhead, Eraser, Barber, Armitage, Urry, Edward.?, Fletcher, Parkinson; club captain, Mr. J. Shanaghan; delegates, Messrs. Langride, Duncan, and Childs; Management Committee, Messrs. R. Shanahan, Kruse, Zimmerman, Williams, F. Munn, Tetley, Stubbersfield, Buckland, Brace; treasurer, Mr. M. Ford ; secretary, Mr. W. La-ngride (re-elected); trustees, Messrs. 0. H. Haddock and M. Ford.
