A TRAGEDY

WORRIED OVER BUYING A HOME.

An inquest was held by tha Coroner, Mr. W. G. Rid Jell, this morning, regarding the death of Mr. Thomas Bernard Sheehy, a messenger at the Government Buildings, 68 years of ago, .whoee body was found with tho throat out and a razor lying nearby on the" Tinakori Hille by the caretaker of the wireless station early yesterday morning.

Deceased, who was a married man with an adult family, left his home in Hawke-stone-tfrescent on Saturday morning, intimating that he was going for a walk. An hour later hia dog returned alone, and tho deceased was not seen alive again. Evidence was given that deceased had been greatly worried of late over being obliged to give up possession of. a houso which ho and his family had occupied for a number of years, although he had made arrangements, which promised, success, to take over another house. The matter had been discussed between deceased and a son on Friday, when deceased seemed greatly worried, but on the eon's undertaking to relieve him of the business oi purchasing a home, he appeared satisfied As far as the son was aware, his' father should have had nothing to worry over after that. A verdict was returned that the deceased had taken his life while in a state of mental depression. Mr P. A. Jackson appeared on behalf of the family and Sergeant O'Hara on behalf of the police.
