SYDNEY, 13th October.

Owing to dissatisfaction at the recent award the masters and engineers' branch of the Merchant Service Guild has decided to affiliate with the Transport Workers' Federation.

[Mi. Justice Higgins's award in the dispute between the Merchant Service Guild and the Commonwealth Steamship Ownei's' Association fixed the salaries of masters of seagoing passenger vessels at £30 10s to £80 per month, and of nonpassenger seagoing vessels at £26 2s to £55 per month. On steamers in inside waters the masters or engineers were awarded' £5 10s to £7 10s per week, all according to tonnage.]
