DEFEAT OF COMRADE

The feature of the opening of the Cesarewitch Meeting was the first defeat in eight starts of Comrade, who ran in the Champion Stakes, which resulted in a win for Orpheus (Leach), Comrade (Bullock) being second, and Diadem third. Orpheus was third in the 1920 Derby, unplaced in the Leger, and won the Duke of York Stakes on Saturday. [Comrade, on the 3rd inst., won the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe in Paris, a race valued at 6000 soys. He was purchased as a yearling for 25 guineas. Last June Comrade won the Grand Pris.j
A Press Association message from Sydney states that Mr. G. D. Greenwood has sold Dewdrop, by The Welkin— Carissima, to Mr. Percy Miller. The price is satisfactory, but is not stated..
