THE SCOTTISH CAMPAIGN

TECHNICAL OBJECTION TO POLLS

(UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.—COPYRIGHT.)

(AUSTRALIAN • NEW ZEALAND OABLB ASSOCIATION.) LONDON, 11th October.

The Prohibition campaign in Glasgow has taken an interesting turn through a solicitor questioning the validity of the procedure, on the ground that requisitions demanding the poll lodged before Ist September were void, as the date of judgment waa fixed for 30th September; further, that all the requisitions for the thirty-seven ivardr. were not applied for by electors ir the area. The solicitor intends to take legal action.

The authorities declare that the requisitions were in proper order. The Glasgow Herald ridicules the objection as purely technical. Similar'objections have been raised in other areas.
