The quarterly meeting of the Wellington South Methodist Circuit was held on Monday evening at the Island Bay Church. The Rev. E. Drake presided, and the Rev. Dr. Pinfold and forty oflicials were present. Tho returns showed 317 senior members, with ten on probation, and 116 juniors. The income for the quarter showed £279 10s to have been received from all sources, and over £72 for foreign missions, making £107 10s for the latter fund for the year. A special vote of thanks was passed to Mr. A. Martin for his excellent work as treasurer to this fund. Tho Sunday School work was considered to be satisfactory. Messrs. S. Martin, J. P. Shand, and C. Swiney were appointed rgr presentatives to the Synod meeting in Masterton on 23rd November, and Messrs. A. H. Brooks and G. Hoare were appointed substitutes. Owing to the fact of the Eev. Dr. JPinfold retiring from the a.ctive ministry it was resolved to ask conference to appoint a Home Missionary as the second agent. The Eev. E. Drake received a hearty and unanimous invitation to superintend the circuit for a sisth year, and accepted subject to conference approval.
