PHOTOGRAPHIC DISPLAY
WELLINGTON AMATEUR SOCIETY.
The quality of amateur photography is displayed to good advantage in the third annual pictorial exhibition of the Wellington Amateur Photographic Society, which opened in the V.M.C.A. Assembly Hall, Willis-street, last evening. A good all round improvement upon last year is, shown in the exhibits, some 160 in number, and while the pictures are mostly the work of local photographers, there are quite a number of Australian entries. Those, however, are not so numerous, on account 'of restricted shipping facilities, and tho clashing with other exhibitions. The Mayor (Mr. J. P.. Luke), patron of the society, in opening- the exhibition last evening, spoke of the valuable nrork being done by the society in the encouragement of art.
