THE HOUSING BILL
After referring to housing hardships in Wellington, Mr. P. Fraser (Wellington Central) asked, the Prime Minister, in the House of Representatives yesterday, when, it was proposed to introduce the Housing Bill. While persons with, families were experiencing great difficulty in obtaining accommodation, there were- houses vacant, being held for sale. The Prime Minister said the Housing Bill was in course of preparation now. It would be in charge of the Minister for Labour, who was most anxious to have it introduced and dealt with at art early date. Mr. G. Witty (Riccarton) asked the Prime Minister to have attention given to _ the other side of the case—the hardships of widow owners of property, who could, not obtain, possession of their properties, which were being farmed by the tenants.
