HUTT RIVER BOARD
The monthly meeting of the Hutt River Board was held on Wednesday. Present: Mr. H. Baldwin (chairman), and Messrs. Willoughby Knight, G. Bowers, and M. W. Welch.
The Dispatch Foundry, Greyinouth, advised that it was prepared to carry out tho work of manufacturing a mushroom anchor at the prior tendered, viz.. £84. Owing to the death of the clerk, Mr. Willoughby Knight was appointed actingtreasurer, in order that the bank account could bo operated upon. Tho overseer reported that the willows a* Mr. George's farm required renewing, but that there was no danger of * washout. Below Welch's there were seven chains of willow nnd cable work which required attention. The plantation just above Mason's Gardens was doing splendid service, and he recommended that this be extended two chains down stream..One of tho groynes opposite Mason's Gardens required extending,- »nd tw6 aaore"'glroyn'6s were needed opposite Belmont. About thre« chains oj cable work iwas required juat above Jones's camp.
