MAGISTRATE'S COURT
Four first offenders appeared . before Mr. J. G. Evans, S.M., in the Magistrate's Court this morning. They were dealt with in the usual manner: One of them, who had been undergoing treatment for alcoholism, was ordered to pay 17s 6d, medical expenses.
Jaaies Kelly pleaded not guilty to a charge of indecency in Hunter-street last night. A fine of 40s was imposed. Joseph Murphy, who was charged with having committed an indecent act with intent to insult a female, was remanded to the 13th inst. Bail was granted in the amount of £50, or two sureties of £25.
A youth, for whom Mr. 0. B. O'Donnell appeared, pleaded guilty to two charges of theft of money from his employers. Chief-Detective Ward siiid the employers were prepared to take the boy back." His Worship entered a conviction, and imposed a fine of £3 on one charge, and on the other charge was convicted and placed, under the jurisdiction of the Probation- Officer for a period of two years. A condition was that the amonnji stolen should be rermid.
