The Hawkes Bay races were held today in fine weather, with a large attendance. The course was in splendid order.

Tomoana Hack Hurdles, of 150 soys ; one mile and three-quarters.—Master Boris, 9.11, 1; Orano, 9.8, 2; Retard, 9.9, 3. Scratched: "Nicomar. Won. by half a length. Time, 3min 19sec. Spring Juvenile Handicap, of 200 soys; four furlongs.—Toa Tana, B.t, 1; Mountain Peer, 7.10, 2; Munns, 8.0, 3. Scratched : Tiuohaunga. Won by two lengths. Time, 50sec. Hawkes Bay Guineas, of 500 soys.— Humbug, 8.10, 1; Delight, 8.0, 2; Eaceful, 8.10, 3. Scratched: Gasbag, Weldone, Martini, Pouma, Won by a length. Time, lmin 43 2-ssec.
Spring Handicap, of 350 soys; one mile and a-quarter.—Tenterfield, 7.12, 1; Molyneux, 8.10, 2; Hookah, 6.12, 3. All started. Won by 1£ lengths. Time. 2min 9sec.
