INQUEST ON A CHILD

As the police -were unable to tender any further evidence regarding the death of a ohild, the body of which was found in St. Asa-ph-street a few weeks ago, the adjourned inquest proceedings were closed to-day by the Coroner, .Mr. S. E. McCarthy, who returned the following verdict : "The unknown female child found lying dead under the gate of premises in St. Asaph-street was within 24 hours prior to that time ( asphyxiated by some pereon or persons unknown." i
