WEATHER FORECAST
At 9 a.m. today the following forecast was issued for the subsequent 24 hours:— Winds—Westerly, heavy gale, tacking to southerly shortly. Barometer—Falling tendency in the North, but risins everywhere alter from 10 to vl6 hours. ' Seas—Very heavy on all the western coast; heavy off shore elsewhere. Tides—Good on all the western coast; moderate elsewhere. . Warning signals for westerly gales are exhibited at Cape Maria Van Dienien, Tiritiri (East Cape interrupted), ■ Castlepoint, Cape Campbell, Stephen Island, Farewell Spit, Cape Foulwind, and Nugget Point. Weather—Expect wild and stormy weather: heavy rain and rivers flooded in all the west coast districts and in Otago; snow on tha hisher levels, and much colder weather following. . ■ i ,D.. C. BATES,
