POLICY OF STRIKES CONDEMNED

Mi\ Frank Smith, secretary of the Engineering and Shipbuilding Trades Federation, in an interview, said he hoped the Trades Congress..in September would take a firm stand' to discourage the policy of strike action, especially as the industry was about to undergo great trials during the winter, with every indication of. increasing unemployment.
