MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE MEETS.
A meeting of the Management Committee of the Wellington Rugby Union was held last night, Mr. W. Hornig presiding. The Victoria University Club wrote asking that curtain-raisers be played in the matches in connection with the tour of the Sydney University. The matter was ieft in the hands of the secretary. Four grounds were granted the Civil Service Club for its tourney. Pel-mission was granted the Christchurch and Wellington Railway Engineers to play their annual fixture at Wellington on 16th August. A' protest was -entered by the captain of the Selwyn third class team against the referee's decision in the match against Johnsonville, alleging that a. certain try awarded against them was no try.—The matter was referred to the referee for a report. The manager of the union representative team which visited Levin recently complained against the ordering off the field of two Wellington players during, the game.—lt was decided to write the Horowhenua Union for an explanation.
