FATHER JERGER
REPORTED TRANSFER TO
CRUISER

PERTH, 25th July. It is unofficially stated that Father Jerger has been transferred to the cruiser Encounter in order to avoid trouble with watersiders.

SYDNEY, This Day. Mr. Gordon Wesche, manager for the Macdonald Hamilton Company, agents for the Peninsular and Oriental Line, says that the Melbourne agents are interviewing Mr. Hughes with a view to having Father Jerger placed ashore at Fremantle.
Mr, Hughes, speaking at JJendigo, said that Father, Jerger's deportation was ordered by the law of the land. "Let not either the. shipping companies nor the waterside workers disobey it." It is announced that the P, and 0. Company was likely to apply for the cancellation of the registration of the Waterside Workers' Union in the event of the federation boycotting its steamers.
