NEW GIRLS' COLLEGE

Sketch, plans of tiie new Girls' College to be erected on portion of the College Reserve between the Town Belt aiid the present Boys' College, were placed befor the College Board of Governors today. Portion of the new building, it was pointed out, would be on the site of the observatory. The complete scheme will* provide accommodation for '' 650 girls; but the building will be erected in two ■sections, the first section to accommodate. 350 girls. The plans wilt now be submitted to the Education Department for approval, and the building will be proceeded with as soon aa the necessary grant is authorised by the Government. Members of the board expressed p'easure at the fact that some substantial progress had been made.
