The case of . George William Grundy against George.Taylor Goodwin, a ciaim for £450 damages over the purchase of a house at the Lower Hutt. was concluded yesterday afternoon after a two days', hearing before his Honour Sir Bassett Edwards and a jury of four, in the Supreme Court. representation on the part of tlje defendant -vas alleged in respect. of the age of the house and the presence of borer in it. The jury, sfter two hours' retirement, brought in .4 verdict ten the p'aiiitift, awarding. £250 damages. On the application, of counsel for the defendant, his Honour granted a stay of execution for 14 days to enable defendant to move for a new trial. 3ir. T. Young appeared for the plaintiff, and M:.\ A. Gray, K.C., with' him Mr. JR. Kennedy, for.the defendant. . .
