RAILWAY DISPUTES
A.S.R.S. TRIBUNAL
A UNANIMOUS AGREEMENT.
The A.5.8..5. conciliation tribunal, presided oyMp by Mr. G. B. Bullock, has concluded Us sittings. A unanimous agreement was arrived at on all points in dispute, and this has been reported to .the Government. The terms are subject to approval by the A.S.R.S. members and the Government, but in view of the unanimity of the tribunal it is not expected that any hitch will occur; and this section of the railway dispute, affecting roughly three-fourths of the employees, may be regarded as satisfactorily settled. No statement of the terms can be made while the other sections of the dispute remain unsettled; but it is gathered that both sides made concessions and evinced their desire to secure an amicable settlement. .
It is expected that, the E.F.C.A. dispute, which is to be considered by a board of independent business men, will be dealt with next. The Prime Minister stated to-day that the Railway Department was ready to take the next dispute as soon as the E.F.C.A. or the R. 0.1. were prepared to go on.
