(AUSTRALIAN - NZW ZEALAND CABLE ASSOCIATION.)
(Received May 28, 2 p.m.)
I^ONDON", 27th May.
Official circles are of opinion that there is little chance of Government interference in connection with Sir Robert Philp's mission; while city circles are "apparently antagonistic to the financial requirements of Mr. E: C. Theodqre (Premier of Queensland).
[A delegation from Queensland accompanied Sir Robert Philp to London to protest against the appointment of Mr. W. Lennon as Lieutenant-Governor of Queensland, on the ground that he is a party man. They had arranged to place all the facts before the" Secretary of State for the Colonies (Lord Milner) % It was reported that financial and land companies in the city were taking a keen interest in the mission. Mr. Lennon was formerly' Minister for Agriculture in the Ryan Cabinet.]
