The Auckland branch of the Returned Soldiers' ■ Association carried a number of remits to-night for submission to the annual conference. Other remits advocated increased allowances to subsidised workers to bring their wages to at least £3 10s for single and £4 for married men, and increased pensions. Another remit expressed indignation and .alarm at the 'temporary stoppage of the Discharged Soldiers' Settlement Act.
