Buyers of New Zealand hemp are reported to be shy, and this a.pplies to London as well as to America. Business ' at lower rates could, it is believed, be effected. The weakening of values is attributed to easier prices for Manila fibre. Local prices aTe approximately as follow :—Good fair grade, £34 10s per ton; high fair, £32 10s; low fair, £28 10s. ' ' Tow : No. 1, £11 per ton; No. 2, £10.
