A sensational motor-car accident occurred about twelve miles up the Wanganui River yesterday. W. Tennant, a Wanganui taxi-driver, was motoring along- the batik in the Ticinity of the starting point of the rowing championship course. He had just dropped some passengers, a-nd was turning round, when the wheels became locked. The engine began to race, and the car leaped completely over the bank, and dropped 150 feet. It turned a couple of somersaults in the air, and deposited Tennant on a ledge only two feet wide. Th& car then again leapt, and dropped into the bed of the riv^r. The total, drop is estimated at 300 feet. Tennant escaped with a few bruises.
