DECREE NISI GRANTED
His Honour Sir Bassett Edwards presided at a sitting of the Supreme' Court in divorce, this morning.
When the case of William Henry Sharpin against Alice Emily Sharpin, a petition for'divorce, on the ground of adultery, was called Mr. T. Neaye, counsel for respondent, said he. had been instructed to withdraw fcjit- defence. Mr. H. F. O'Leary represented the petitioner, and explained that Sharpin had been living in Gisb'orne, while respondent lived in Wellington, the latter received an allowance of £2 a week. In 1919, i-e----spondent wrote to her husband; and asked whether he would divorce her if she supplied the necessary evidence, and subsequently she wrote to the effect that in December, 1918, she had spent some time in a hotel at Wanganui, with Jack Owen, as his wife. This was investigated, and it was found that she had lived in the hotel with a man other than Sharpin. After hearing evidence, His Honour granted a decree nbi, with cost's on the' lowest scale. '
