MASTERTON, 15th April. ' At the annual meeting of the Masterton Methodist Ladies' Guild, the following officers were elected for the ensuing year :—President, Mrs. Cocker; vicepresidents, Mrs. H. Beale and Mrs. 0. Pragnell; secretary, Mrs. B. Iveson; treasurer, Mrs. D. Donald : organist, Mrs. Maud Elliott.

Six cases of scarlet fever are at present under treatment at the Masterton Hospital.

The Masterton branch of the Farmers' Union has resolved to ask the Agricultural Department to issue a pamphlet, stating the most suitable trees for growing in the Wairarapa district.
