CUTTING UP
PROPERTY SUBDIVISIONS
AUTHORISED BY CITY COUNCIL.
An indication of liveliness in the building line was given in the large number of applications ior subdivisions oi property before the City Council last evening on the recommendation favourable or .otherwise a', the Bylaws Committee. Subdivisions were approved as follow, the name of the owner in parenthesis: — Moana-road (T. P. Moore), Ohiro-road (A. M. Roberts), Yule and Cook-streets (J. D. Alien), Apuka-street (A. M. Boberts'i, Karep'a-street jA. M. Roberts), Tinakori-road (Tuorndon Bowling Club), Belvedere-road (Miles), Konim'-road and Waitoa-road (Hulse), Ohiro-road and Freyberg-street (Stellin), Waitoa and Hataitai-roads (Creighton).
Proposed subdivisions were not- approved in the' applications in regard to Rhine-street (Myers), Tinakori-road (J. H. Killeen), Waitoa-road (Smart).
A proposal for the subdivision of property in Russell-terrace, Rintoul, and Riddiford-streets. was approved. The subdivision provides for certain sections with frontages slightly less than 20 feet. An application for permission to erect a house on the rear section at Town Acre 457, Hill-street, was approved; the proposal showing the building 16 feet from the rear boundary of the section in front, whereas the bylaw requires that such hous£6 shall not be erected within 30 feet of such boundaries.
