At the weekly-meeting of the Claims Board of the Wairarapa Patriotic Association, t two loans were approved to' enable soldiers to purchase stick. One application for a loan was referred to the Repatriation Committee, and fonr claims for temporary relief were dealt with. A magnificent display of the Aurora Australia was witnessed from Masterton at an early hour on Tuesday morning. Twenty-eight'pupils have joined a class in Masterton in connection with the Workers' Educational Association for the study of economics. Ward and Mrs. Ward were entertained at a social. afternoon arranged by - the Dalefleld Methodist Guild, in view of their approaching departure for Brooklyn, Wellington. During the proceedings Mrs. ■C. Sayers, on behalf of the Guild, presented Mrs. Ward with a handsome E.P., and Doultoh china cake stand. The Rev. Mr. Perjv man, of Port Chalmers, will succeed Mr, Ward in Cartertoii. At. a-meeting of Tptara Lodge. U.A.0.D., it was resolved that an appeal on behalf of the widow and family of a deceased member he made through the lodges of the North Island Grand. Lodge. -The returns for the quarter ending February showed 223 financial members for that period.
