DAILY BREAD

TO THE EDITOR.

Sir,—The bakers (employers) threaten to "go slow." What is wrong with the Government taking over an existing factory in Wellington and supplying the public at the cost of production plus reasonable interest on the outlay necessary? It is quite clear that "go slow" m not confined to workers—in fact, so far as the writer can ascertain very few sections of workers adopt this policy. -They leave it to employers to use when dissatisfied with the rate of profits.—l am, etc., C. H. CHAPMAN.

Another-correspondent asks 11 r. Kellow "why if it costs l£d to deliver a loaf of bread, the bakers only make -jd difference if bread is taken at a bakehouse." The correspondent strongly urges the Government to see the need of bread being cheap.
