FENCING THE ROAD,

, A Teqi:est made by the Wairarapa Automobile Association that the Hutt County Council should grant permission for the fencing of the western side of the Rimuta.ka-road met with the general approval of tho council, and it was decided that provision should be given providing that the fence was erected subject to the approval of the county engineer. Tho Automobile Association has generously offered to supply half a ton of wir© towards tho material required for the erfection of the fence, and similar offers had been made by tho Gear Company and the Meat , Export Company, while it was understood that the Wellington Automobilo Association would also contribute a like amount. The council decided to add another half-ton of wire to tho material promised.
