SERVICE IN SAMOA
FRENCH DECORATIONS. ;,
Advice received by His Excellency the Governor-General states that the French decorations described below have been awarded to the officers and other ranks whose names are given in the subjoined list, in recognition of their valuable services in Samoa during the first year of the military .occupation-of that territory. The rank given in each case was that held during the period for which the award is made.
Legion d'Honneur.—Chevalier : Colonel Robert Logon, C.8., A.D.C., New Zealand Staff Corps, Administrator of the occupied territory of Samoa. Croix do Guerre.— Major, William Richard Pinwill, Imperial General Staff (Liverpool Regiment); Second-Lieuton-ant John Llewellyn Davies, New Zealand Wirleless Detachment.
Medaille Militaire.—Warrant-Officer John Allen, New Zealand Engineers; Sergeant Ernest Edward Dunwoodie, New Zealand Wireless Detachment.
Medaille d'Honneur en Vermeill.—Sergeant John Hector Robertson, sth (Wellington) Regiment.
Medaille d'Honneur en Argent.—Sergeant William M'Pherson Matheson, sth (Wellington) Regiment.
