AN UNWELCOME GERMAN,

CAPETOWN, Bth January. An official decision has been given that a German employed at the Simmer and Jack Mine at Johannesburg, with whom British miners refused to work, was under agreement, and entitled to remain. The Strike Committee is dissatisfied, and has issued a statement that many employees have decided to leave the mine in preference to working with a; German. The municipal employees at Durban have struck owing to the dismissal of the assistant town clerk. The tramway and telephone services are suspended.
