IN AUCKLAND DISTRICT
THE TRIPLE LABOUR SUCCESS,
(BY..TELEGSAPH.—SPECIAL TO THE POST.)
.■;: AUCKLAND, This Day. 'A.feature of the election results in the Auckland district is the triple success of the Labour Party in the three contiguous electorates of Auckland Central, ■Auckland West, and Grey Lynn. Mr. Savage's-win'in1 Auckland West was not unexpected. ;Mr. Parry's defeat of Mr. in Central was no great surprise, but; Mr; .Bartram's win in Grey Lynn certainly came as a surprise to most people. ■ It was generally anticipated that the contest would be between Mr. Fowlds and Miss Melville, and the result in this case upset many calculations. These three wins on the part of Labour is marked evidence of the improved organisation on the part of the Labour Party. ; Mr. Myers's narrow escape from defeat by Mr. Glutha Mackenaie, as compared with his previous large majorities, is pgrhajis' the only. other noteworthy feature of the voting in this part of the Dominion. - The results in other northern districts were generally as forecasted" by your correspondent.
