MR. M. J ; SAVAGE.

Mr. M. J, Savage (the new Labour member for Auckland West) is a Victorian by birth. He was originally a miner, having, in Australia, worked alongside Mr. P. 0. Wobb, member for Grey in the old Parliament. Before cbming to New Zealand, twelve years ago, he was manager of the Ruthergten Co-operative. Company in Victoria, and hns aver since been an active worker in industrial matters. At the present'time he. is national secretary of the New Zealand Labour Party, and is a member of the Auckland City Council. Mr. Savage was a candidate for Auckland Central at the 1911 and 1914 elections.
