ME. WILFORD AGAIN SUCCESSFUL. T. M. Wilfor* <L.) ... ,3281 D. K. Pritchard (Lab.) 2333 E. P. Rishworth (R.) 2213 Majority lor Wilford... 9«8 The first local return to come to hand at Petone was that from Epuni, Hamlet, and this was practically an indication of how the voting had been going everywhere. ' Both the Labour and 'Tieform candidates had expected considerable support in this district, and the large majority for Mr. Wilford "left little doubt of the result elsewhere. Almost every fresh, return increased Mr. Wilford's lead, and in many places where a minority had previously been recorded a majority was forthcoming. The Returning Officer and his staff got through their work expeditiously.
